Public works department
Public Works Department currently has 25 employees and approximately 15 work release inmates. The Public Works Department is responsible for streets, parks, cemetery, water/sewer lines, wastewater treatment, beautification and fleet maintenance.The City of Seminole has approximately 60 miles of sewer line, 92 miles of water line, and 68 miles of street.

Public works is also responsible for the trash service with WCA. We offer weekly pickup, roll off dumpsters, and bulk pickup once a month. The bulk pickup is the second full week of each month. We also offer one free dump a month with a copy of your current Seminole water bill at the Sooner Landfill, located between Seminole and Wewoka on Hwy 270 East. There is a 3 cubic yard limit (this amount is equal to a level regular truck bed) with each free dump.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE:
The City of Seminole apprectiates your calls on reporting street light outages. However, when we receive your calls we report them directly to OG&E, as it is their responsibiltiy to make the repairs. We encourage all citizens to call OG&E directly at (800)522-6870. If you have already reported a street light outage with the city and have yet to see progress, feel free to contact OG&E's Customer Service at (405)272-9741 or (800)272-9741.
